The sun moves into Scorpio on October 22, 2025

Welcome to Scorpio season!

October 22 - November 21

The sun moves into the emotionally deep, internally driven, and determined sign of fixed water on October 22nd at 8:50 pm. Then Scorpio season ends on November 21st at 5:35 pm when the sun moves into Sagittarius.

Overview:

The balance of Libra season provides a launchpad for our next deep dive—welcome to Scorpio season.

The sun’s time in Scorpio shines a light for us to explore the dark depths around and within us. This Scorpio season is bringing our attention to our healing, sometimes by way of our triggers. It is helping us to foster sustainable growth, even when that involves more reflection than construction. It’s helping us shift to meet the moment ahead of us and find new relationships with our imaginations and beliefs, even if we have to stumble through some miscommunications and delays in that pursuit.

There may be activity obscured in the shadows this Scorpio season, but the sun’s journey through fixed water is encouraging us to tap into our internal strength and engage in an honest reclamation of our power.

Jupiter x Chiron:

October 23rd: Jupiter in Cancer squares Chiron at 24° of Aries

When Jupiter and Chiron clash, we may feel hyperaware of an old wound, something related to our identity, our autonomy, and how we meet our needs and care for ourselves. But just as easily as Jupiter can expand what is hurting us, it can expand the soothing balms and healing salves that we have available to us. Pain has a job: the job is to draw our attention to something that needs our care, and in these final few months of 2025, it’s important to remember that we need to acknowledge what hurts to be able to heal it.

The exact square comes along on the first full day of Scorpio season, but it is building for all of Libra season, and stays active through the end of 2025, with a second exact square coming on December 21st. Planets moving through the final decan of Libra have been forming a t-square with Jupiter and Chiron, further highlighting this tension—in the first few days of November, Venus will do this as well. This cardinal t-square may expose pain-points in our relationships, but acknowledging them and tending to them can help us form stronger connections moving forward.

Mercury retrograde:

November 9th - November 29th: Mercury retrograde from 6° of Sagittarius to 20° of Scorpio

October 21st - December 16th: retrograde shadow period

November 20th: Mercury cazimi at 28° of Scorpio

Our final Mercury retrograde of the year comes along in the middle of Scorpio season, as the planet of communication travels through the first decan of Sagittarius. In Jupiter’s territory, Mercury can lose sight of the details and information in the abyss of the story, and while it’s retrograde, it can be even more difficult to keep our eye on the ball. This Mercury retrograde has great potential buried within it; the caveat is that we have to allow ourselves to be retrograde. We have to allow ourselves to be in a process of review to reap the benefits of the course correction and the understanding that this retrograde offers. We have to allow ourselves the opportunity to get things wrong, to view things from new perspectives, and to learn, but if we commit to that process, we can genuinely expand into something new, something that works for us. With Jupiter in Cancer ruling one portion of this retrograde, we owe it to ourselves to review the stories we tell about our needs and about how we care for them. With Mars in Sagittarius ruling the other portion of this retrograde, we also owe it to ourselves to interrogate the ways we fight for what we believe.

Jupiter x Saturn:

Jupiter and Saturn spend all of Scorpio season (and the remainder of 2025) engaged in a trine that never exacts, helping us to align our goals with our work ethic, and our worldview with our responsibilities. This is an auspicious dynamic to capitalize on when it comes to the relationship between Cancer and Pisces themes, as well as the Cancer and Pisces parts of our charts. But this trine becomes even more supportive as planets traverse the final decan of Scorpio, completing a grand water trine. October, November, and December are marked by this grand water trine as Mercury, Mars, the sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mercury once more (not to mention the moon’s monthly visits), activate this growth potential in the water houses in our charts. This is a powerful moment to explore the ways we relate to water energy, and how we engage with the houses in our charts containing water signs—with all of the traditional planets involved, we have the opportunity to affect our whole lives. When Jupiter and Saturn work together, we may find that we have the support we need to expand into our interests, curiosities, and beliefs while strengthening the foundation beneath us, so that we can have the grounding our growth requires. To make the most of this drawn-out moment, we must be aware of our feelings, trust our intuition, and honor our embodied responses.

Uranus x Neptune:

August 28, 2025: Uranus in Gemini sextiles Neptune at 1° of Aries

* November 20, 2025: Uranus in Taurus sextiles Neptune at 29° of Pisces *

July 15, 2026: Uranus in Gemini sextiles Neptune at 4° of Aries

January 15, 2027: Uranus in Gemini sextiles Neptune at 1° of Aries

June 6, 2027: Uranus in Gemini sextiles Neptune at 6° of Aries

Uranus and Neptune are coming together in the second of several supportive alignments over the next couple of years. This sextile may help us to disrupt our beliefs and innovate in creative and meaningful new ways in our lives. Outer planets like these also speak to generational shifts with widespread and long-lasting effects, so we may see changes to spirituality on a larger scale, new perspectives emerging in culture and in the arts, and technological developments with meaningful impacts. This is the only one in this series, taking place in Taurus and Pisces—this moment gives us some insight into how we can connect where we are coming from to where we are going.

Happy Scorpio season!

Lunations:

Full moon at 13° of Taurus on November 5th at 5:19 am

This full moon offers us a moment to appreciate what matters most to us and revel in our relationships, connections, values, and generosity. There is challenge in the air but when we’re growing and doing our best, there’s so much to celebrate in that simple fact. This full moon is helping to bring our relationship needs to light and also highlighting the tools we have at our disposal to heal, nurture, and set ourselves up for success.

New moon at 28° of Scorpio on November 19th at 10:47 pm PT

We are speaking a new beginning into existence, and in doing so we are planting seeds with all of the care and routine that they needs to grow long term. This new start also comes with unexpected twists and turns, infusing this upcoming cycle with surprises guiding us toward greater freedom but maybe shocking us along the way. We may feel the need to lock this new beginning in, with a burst of energy, an assertive act, or a exertion of some kind, but our passion is already intertwined in everything we do during this lunation, and what unfolds after it. Rest if you need to.
