The premeditated murder of critical thinking & the importance of creativity
On blocking bots on the internet
I found myself on a blocking spree. Like Sisyphus, trying to rid my corner of the internet of bots and the people they have been programmed to mimic. I combed through the comment section of a TikTok video from a mainstream news network (in my watch history to prevent the app from removing the video from my feed after I blocked the first bad actor).
Each time I saw a meme about democrats or liberals (not in defense of democrats and liberals, whose support of the status quo got us here),
or a statement about “supporting law enforcement” from someone disseminating the talking points of the men raping children, rigging elections, and executing genocides to satisfy their warmongering kinks,
or a poorly articulated attempt to further normalize the state executing people in the street, under the guise of protesting violence—I clicked on the profile pictures, and individually blocked each “person.”
