A panopticon under a red and white striped tent

From the outside they saw a striped tent 

so they called it a circus 

then they called it dangerous 

they made a spectacle out of tearing down the circus 

turned off the lights and kicked everyone out 

then opened it up again the next morning under new management 

or so we suspected 

at the circus we all watched each other 

now they watch us 

and we watch what they want us to 

maybe they assumed from the outside we would see a circus 

but since we built whatever we wanted to under that tent

obviously, they could repurpose it too.
