Welcome to Pisces season
February 18, 2026 - March 20, 2026
The sun moves into the dreamy, connection-oriented, and receptive sign of mutable water on February 18th at 7:52 am PT. Then Pisces season ends on March 20th at 7:46 am when the sun moves into Aries, ushering in the spring equinox in the northern hemisphere and the autumn equinox in the southern hemisphere.
The end of Aquarius season left balls up in the air, Pisces season finds us juggling these shifts and changes, ready to see where things start to land—we’re in the middle of eclipse season, the long-awaited conjunction between Saturn and Neptune is inching toward exaction, and the final days of Mercury’s pre-retrograde shadow are wrapping up. As the sun traverses Jupiter’s watery home sign, we are focusing on centering ourselves, getting in touch with our feelings, and finding new ways to care deeply as we navigate the new terrain that emerges in the wake of these big changes.
Pisces season begins on February 18th at 7:52 am PT
Pisces season ends on March 20th at 7:45 am PT
Lunations:
Total lunar eclipse at 12° of Virgo on March 3rd
Our second eclipse in this ongoing series, a lunar eclipse in Virgo, is coming in to help us close out a chapter, walk away from something we may have idealized that didn’t quite work for us, and find deeper refinement in the Virgo parts of our charts. This eclipse takes place near the drain that is the south node, and its ruling planet, Mercury, is both in its fall and retrograde. Clear thoughts, facts, figures, and predictable communication patterns may be harder to come by in the days around this lunation. And while feeling stuck in an intellectual or organizational holding pattern might be frustrating, it may also help us lean into the information coming from our intuition, from our emotional responses, and from the collective vibe.
New moon at 28° of Pisces on March 18th
The Pisces new moon comes along to officially bring eclipse season to a close, by opening a new door, possibly a pretty emotionally fulfilling one. The moon is in mutual reception with its exalted ruling planet, Jupiter, meaning that this new beginning has the support it needs to generate something nurturing, something connective, and something inspiring. It is co-present with Mars, Vesta, and Mercury (still retrograde) in Pisces, so we may be finding creative ways to communicate, understand, motivate ourselves, commit to what fuels us, and take action. If eclipse season shook things up for you, this is a great new moon to set intentions for emotional grounding, and if you want to take the shaking into your own hands, the sextile to Uranus may give your intentions an innovative edge.
Major themes & transits
Saturn x Neptune:
Saturn in Aries: May 24, 2025-September 1, 2025; February 13, 2026-April 12, 2028
Neptune in Aries dates: March 30, 2025-October 22, 2025; January 26, 2026-May 21, 2038; October 21, 2038-March 23, 2039
February 20, 2026: Saturn conjoins Neptune at 0° of Aries
Saturn and Neptune have been building to this conjunction for a while now, but in the first few days of Pisces season, it exacts. Saturn and Neptune’s conjunction signals the dissolution of things we once saw as solid and the formation of structures around our ideals. While things change and take new forms, we may find ourselves feeling unsure of what ground is firmly positioned beneath us, and what ground is slipping and prepared to give way to something new. In Aries, Neptune is creative and prepared to fight for its ideals, while also being susceptible to the fog of war and delusions of individualism. In Aries, Saturn is decisive and motivated to build for the future, while also being shortsighted and short-tempered in that pursuit.
This energy is creating a new norm as these planets make their way through Aries. For Saturn, that will be the next few years; for Neptune, it will be over a decade. As we adapt, we may feel the extreme shift from Pisces’ empathetic, expansive, and at times meandering tone to Aries’ assertive, action-oriented, and at times aggressive one.
Eclipse season continues:
Annular solar eclipse (new moon) at 28° of Aquarius on February 17th (Aquarius season)
Total lunar eclipse (full moon) at 12° of Virgo on March 3rd
New moon at 28° of Pisces on March 18th
The final few days of Aquarius season featured a solar eclipse in the fixed air sign, previewing the next cycle of eclipses, with the north node moving into Aquarius and the south node moving into Leo this July. However, the nodes remain in Pisces and Virgo, and the second eclipse, a lunar eclipse in Virgo, comes along to refocus our attention on the eclipse story that has been unfolding in these mutable signs for over a year now.
This lunar eclipse near the south node is asking us to refine and release what may not be working for us. We may find ourselves presented with the task/ opportunity to pinpoint something that is draining us, exhausting us, or begging to be expelled. This is a great time to reflect on your relationship with perfectionism, service, and the details of your life. Ruled by Mercury, this eclipse is concerned with the spread, organization, and analysis of information; but it might highlight the importance of intuition over data-driven knowledge, especially when that “data-driven knowledge” is compromised by people and institutions that fear or loathe the truth. Eclipses offer us moments of intensity: power surges, power grabs, and power outages (both metaphorically and literally), and as far as Virgo is concerned, gathering knowledge and effective communication are superpowers.
The acute portion of eclipse season will take place between the two lunations on February 17th and March 3rd, but the Pisces new moon on March 18th will solidify our move out of eclipse season, with a supportive, expansive, and emotionally aligned new beginning.
Mercury retrograde:
Mercury enters its pre-retrograde shadow on February 11th (Aquarius season)
Mercury stations retrograde at 22° of Pisces on February 25th
Mercury stations direct at 8° of Pisces on March 20th (Aries season)
Mercury leaves its post-retrograde shadow on April 9th (also Aries season)
Mercury stations retrograde in Jupiter’s watery home sign on February 25th—while it’s retrograde, we may find ourselves returning to thoughts, ideas, stories, and conversations from the second half of Aquarius season as we review, reconsider, and reimagine our relationship to the feelings that undergird them. While Mercury is uncomfortable in Pisces and not at full strength during a retrograde, there are some sweet spots for understanding and communication over the following weeks. Mercury’s conjunction with Venus on February 25th and trine to Jupiter on March 8th present opportunities to reflect on our beliefs, connections, creative approaches, world views, as well as the concepts of artistry, empathy, and value more broadly. Mercury’s conjunction to the sun on March 7th may find us in a moment of clarity and insight, but if true communication is the goal, we may need to focus more on understanding our feelings than on getting our thoughts to swim into a straight line. With Mercury conjoining Mars on March 15th, this retrograde may also touch on our strength and resolve, inviting us to reignite and maybe redefine our relationship to power, desire, and anger. It’s important to keep an eye on empathy, though—hurt feelings, misunderstandings, and a perceived need to rush can fuel conflict, messy exchanges, and disrupt connection and closeness, even if that was the original intention. Mercury stations direct with the equinox, a few hours after Aries season starts, and it does so in a conjunction to the north node in Pisces (the conjunction exacts on March 17th). These final moments of the retrograde may have some insights for us related to the eclipse we had earlier in the month and the eclipses we’ve been experiencing along the Pisces and Virgo axis in general.
More Uranus squares:
Mras in Aquarius squares Uranus at 27° of Taurus on February 27th
Vesta in Aquarius squares Uranus at 27° of Taurus on March 6th
Aquarius season brought some prominent Uranian moments, as planets traveling through the late degrees of the fixed air sign squared off with the planet of unexpected change as it stationed direct in Taurus for the final time (at least for the next 80ish years). Pisces season will bring us two more of these tense moments of disruption, innovation, and surprise as Mars and Vesta square off with Uranus as well.
When Mars and Uranus form hard aspects to each other, we tend to find explosive, prickly, and even dangerous events. Their exact square falls on February 27th, and the days around it might be a good time to take it as easy as possible and move with caution. It’s important to take care, to self-regulate, and ground in the face of disturbances, surprises, and unexpected changes. We may find ourselves losing our tempers or faced with someone who has, we may find the ground beneath us feels less secure than we had previously thought, we may find that we need to take several deep breaths before taking the next step, or we may look back and wish that we had. Watch where you are going, stretch first, and do your best to roll with any punches you encounter. While Mars’ square may be more likely to make the headline, Vesta’s square on March 6th may feel juicier. Sometimes it takes a disturbance to breathe new life into what we find sacred. An unexpected shift can be the missing ingredient to feeling freer within the bounds of our allegiance to our own higher purpose. That being said, it may require us to part with some of the more stubborn ways we express that deep dedication. Both squares can offer a revolutionary new perspective on what we feel committed to, with Vesta representing our devotion and Mars representing passion and what motivates us. These squares are a chance to embrace and integrate the changes that Uranus has been bringing to the Taurus parts of our charts since 2018, before Uranus moves on to Gemini in April.
Venus & Jupiter:
Venus in Pisces: February 10, 2026-March 6, 2026
Jupiter in Cancer: June 9, 2025-June 29, 2026
One of the best things about this Pisces season is that both of our benefics are front and center, resourced, comfortable, and in a supportive relationship to one another. Venus spends about half of Pisces season exalted in the mutable water sign, and Jupiter, the ruling planet of everything moving through Pisces, is exalted in Cancer, a fellow water sign. This combination brings us some sweet, nurturing, and generative energy as these planets dance with each other and other planetary bodies throughout Pisces season. This is especially true on February 22nd, when Venus and Jupiter form an exact trine, heightened even more by the moon in Taurus (also exalted) forming an exact sextile to both benefics, imbuing the day with a subtle ease of connection. This generosity, support, and beauty may express themselves in our communications, platonic relationships, and inspired ideas as Mercury conjoins Venus on February 27th and trines Jupiter on March 8th. The sun trines Jupiter on March 5th, bringing out confidence, magnanimity, and the opportunity to say an emotionally in-tune and aligned ‘yes’ to ourselves, to being seen, and to trusting our intuition. Jupiter pulls extra focus as it stations direct on March 10th, gathering strength, enthusiasm, and optimism for its final push through Cancer. This is a great time to think about what we want to do with these last few months of Jupiter, resourced and highly regarded, in its sign of exaltation—how can we take advantage, position ourselves, and accept blessings in the house that the planet of abundance has been moving through since last June?
Spotlight on Ceres:
Ceres in Aries: May 16, 2025-March 14, 2026
Ceres in Taurus: March 14, 2026-May 28, 2026
As we round this first corner of 2025, one marked by intense changes, prominent tonal shifts, and important personal and interpersonal moments of review, a subtle but potentially significant shift in how we care for ourselves is taking place in the background.
Ceres has been in Aries for the last 10 months, and it will finally be moving into Taurus. Ceres spent an unusually long time in the cardinal fire sign due to its retrograde last year, but it will only be in the fixed earth sign for a couple of months. This Pisces season, we get the opportunity to take stock of how we have been nourishing ourselves in the Aries parts of our charts, and we begin to explore what we need to feel nurtured in a new area of life. Take some time to devote yourself to what you’ve learned. Where we have been tending to energy, vitality, and identity, we are now shifting focus to grounding, securing ourselves, and surrounding ourselves with an abundance that truly feeds us and sets us up to grow.
Pay attention to your plant needs this Pisces season, water yourself, feed yourself, trim off your dead leaves, grow toward the light, wave at other plants in the breeze, and stretch down into your roots.
