Venus moves into Leo on June 5th

Venus moves into Leo on June 5th at 6:46 am PT where it will; remain until the evening of October 8th.

Venus in Leo is creative, confident, generous, and loves attention. In Leo, Venus wants to encourage you to shine in your own spotlight, express yourself with a renewed sense of authenticity, and find joy and inspiration everywhere you look. This Venus transit is extra long because it features a retrograde that will take over, and pull focus, for most of the summer. Retrograde energy can make it difficult to move forward and feel linear progress, but it allows us to reassess, reimagine, and rework our approaches to things, in this case, Venusian things. This astrology will focus our attention on our connections, our values, our creative pursuits, and our relationships with beauty and money. Because this retrograde is taking place in Leo, our egos, the way we are seen by others, and our relationships with ourselves will be especially up for review. It can be scary when we begin to question what we like and why, what we value, and why, who we want to be around and why; but these questions are crucial to us staying in alignment with the people we want to be. This may be a big moment of growth, particularly if you have prominent placements in Leo (or the other fixed signs/ fire signs) between 12° and 28°—those placements and their roles in your life will undergo the questions Venus is pondering. When we are honest about what we like, what we don't really like, and what we absolutely can't stand, we know how to ask for what we want, and maybe we won't feel so bad about knowing our preferences; we might even see it as the asset that it is.

June 5: Venus in Leo opposes Pluto in Aquarius (0°)

Venus’ first act in Leo is an intense one, an opposition to Pluto in Aquarius—this energy can bring an air of paranoia and mistrust. When Venus and Pluto come up against one another, we may be compelled to dig into things that feel tense, touchy, or even painful. This energy can make us prone to feelings of betrayal, disloyalty, and fear, and we may find ourselves taking this out on our relationships or the things that mean the most to us. It's an important time to take a step back and refrain from jumping to any conclusions. If there’s a problem, it will still be there in a week, but if it dissipates, maybe you can let it go?

June 11: Venus in Leo squares Jupiter in Taurus (5°)

Even a square between these two planets can be quite lovely, in fact, a square between Venus and Jupiter can be generative, growth-oriented, and exciting. Together they invite us to expand and explore our values and the connections we appreciate—we may take this as an opportunity to learn more about something we already like, to spend more time cultivating relationships that bring us joy, or to create something meaningful.

June 17: Mercury in Gemini sextiles Venus in Leo (10°)

This is a charming transit, we may find that we have the words we need, and communication flows with a certain kind of grace. This is a great transit for creating or communicating about art, for engaging in relationships, conversations, and self-expression more broadly.

June 19: Venus retrograde shadow period begins (12°)

Venusian things that come up around now (and until Venus stations retrograde) are subject to revisitation once the retrograde gets underway, watch out for how you respond to things now as they are likely to come back around later in the summer. Get ready to get reflective!

July 2: Venus in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus (21°)

When Venus and Uranus find themselves in a tense dynamic, we may find ourselves feeling a little rocked by change. This transit can make it difficult to feel safe in our relationships or grounded in our values, and while this can bring an air of excitement, it can also feel destabilizing. It is important to keep an eye out for the defenses we put up when we don't feel safe and grounded, if we don't like them, we can always practice taking a breath, stepping back, and re-engaging when we are ready.

July 22: Venus stations Retrograde in Leo (28°)

In some ways this is the defining event of Venus’s time in Leo this year, let this review bring you closer to yourself and what you truly want—if you need some close encounters with things you don't like to get there, take note and let it happen.

July 27: Mercury in Leo conjoins Venus in Leo (28°)

When Venus and Mercury meet up, we usually have a special way of communicating smoothly, artfully, and effectively, but Venus has spent the last week slowing down and turning around, and this leaves Venus in a less-than-ideal position to add the usual sweetness it typically brings. This is a great time for journaling, and for tapping into the art of communication, we might find that we get insights into the themes of this Venus retrograde with Mercury's help, and we may have important conversations, and begin the process of communicating something that will continue to work on during this retrograde.

August 9: Venus in Leo (rx) squares Uranus in Taurus (22°)

Venus has come back around to square Uranus once again, and so this may bring up a similar change, surprise, or confusing event from early in July, or we may find ourselves experiencing similar feelings of excitement or unease. This is a great time to extend some kindness to your nervous system if you are feeling uncomfortable, or a time to explore curiosity if you are feeling exhilarated.

August 13: The sun in Leo conjoins Venus in Leo (rx) (20°)

This Venus cazimi may be one of the days to handle venus related activities during Venus’s time in Leo because the sun supercharges the planet of connection and beauty. While we may have been feeling a little lost in the retrograde haze, our values, our art, and our connections may be feeling a little more clear and more actionable today. This also marks the halfway mark for Venus's retrograde and it's a great time to reflect on what's come up and how you're feeling.

August 22: Venus in Leo (rx) squares Jupiter in Taurus (15°)

When Venus retrograde comes back into alignment with Jupiter, the planet of expansion and growth challenges Venus to dig deeper and think more broadly in its time of review and reconfiguration. This is not the time to limit your view of things or get stuck in a silo, we are being invited to explore the depth and breadth of what we love and how we express that.

September 3: Venus stations direct in Leo (12°)

Venus, still moving slowly, stations direct and helps us to put all of the floating pieces and feelings into a formation that we can appreciate. Give the process a little room to unfold and give yourself a little time to get accustomed to the new way of being, we need to integrate what we've learned, but there's space for us to be new and we have an invitation to include more of what we like, more of what lights us up, and more of what we find beautiful.

September 13- October 9: Venus in Leo sextiles Mars in Libra (inexact)

While this transit is not exact, for a few days we will be feeling a heightened sense of passion and drive, we may find that we have the energy for the things, the events, and the relationships that truly light us up.

September 16: Venus in Leo squares Jupiter in Taurus (15°)

On this third iteration of Venus and Jupiter's summer engagement, we are more confident and we are ready to go after what we want. This transit might be exciting and may help us to channel our newfound passion (or our new relationships to those passions). This transit offers us a way to visualize the big picture we are trying to move toward, and it helps us find our place in that larger vision.

September 29: Venus in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus (22°)

On this 3rd and final (for now) iteration of this transit, we may find that we are compelled to make some abrupt changes, move more spontaneously, and react with more excitement when it comes to creative projects, relationships, and self-expression more broadly. Think back to early July and late September when we had the other two iterations of this transit, this will likely continue, and wrap up the story that’s been playing out there.

October 7: Venus retrograde shadow period ends (28°)

As Venus clears the final degrees of its retrograde path, this time moving directly, we get the opportunity to integrate the lessons we've learned during Venus’s time in Leo. This is a great time to make space for yourself to sit with yourself, the ways you’ve changed, and how you feel. You can reflect on your relationships with yourself and your ego, the ways that you creatively and joyfully express yourself, how you feel being seen in your authenticity, and how you embody and defend your values.\
