Thoughts on the Saturn-Neptune conjunction: part 1

Everything that I think about is the Saturn-Neptune conjunction

When I say I am always thinking about it, I truly mean always. There is something deeply Saturn/ Neptune about the corrosive nature of these thoughts, these themes, this upcoming, drawn out, and ever-present astrological transit, and its effects on my brain and my reality.

I think one of the reasons I am always thinking about the Saturn-Neptune conjunction is because it’s a thought that doesn’t quite fit into my life, my conversations, or my work in any clear ways (but it’s always relevant in a very unclear way). Yet, the thought of thinking this thought within the confines of my mind for another 2 or so years is maddening, so I’m taking a note from the boundary-eroding duo, moving this thought (this rambling collection of tangentially connected thoughts, hence the part 1) out of my head and into the abyss.

In some ways, I have no other choice because when I try, intentionally, to think about something else or to create with some other muse or source of inspiration, my head goes blank. It’s a conjunction of points within me too, connecting all my thoughts like a classroom reading-comprehension exercise, stretching out webs of thematic interchange to everything spread out and tucked into the corners of my mind.

After all, what else connects my mundane mourning of the passage of time and my grief surrounding the concept of aging, to the artistic cutting-edge archaism of afro-futurism, and the dance between the theoretical, the digital, the historical, and the actual (the prerequisite learning for exploring it with honesty)?

What else could connect giclee prints of watercolor paintings of photos to the growing structural and political extremism within the spiritual grounding of American civil religion?

What else could possibly connect my need to visit the ocean with all of my senses, to be scrubbed clean, eroded away by the waves, to my need to cling to a concept of reality, any concept of reality that doesn’t somehow bring me back to thoughts of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction?
