The sun moves into Scorpio on October 22, 2025

Welcome to Scorpio season!
October 22 - November 21
The sun moves into the emotionally deep, internally driven, and determined sign of fixed water on October 22nd at 8:50 pm. Then Scorpio season ends on November 21st at 5:35 pm when the sun moves into Sagittarius.
Overview:
The balance of Libra season provides a launchpad for our next deep dive—welcome to Scorpio season.
The sun’s time in Scorpio shines a light for us to explore the dark depths around and within us. This Scorpio season is bringing our attention to our healing, sometimes by way of our triggers. It is helping us to foster sustainable growth, even when that involves more reflection than construction. It’s helping us shift to meet the moment ahead of us and find new relationships with our imaginations and beliefs, even if we have to stumble through some miscommunications and delays in that pursuit.
There may be activity obscured in the shadows this Scorpio season, but the sun’s journey through fixed water is encouraging us to tap into our internal strength and engage in an honest reclamation of our power.
Jupiter x Chiron:
October 23rd: Jupiter in Cancer squares Chiron at 24° of Aries
When Jupiter and Chiron clash, we may feel hyperaware of an old wound, something related to our identity, our autonomy, and how we meet our needs and care for ourselves. But just as easily as Jupiter can expand what is hurting us, it can expand the soothing balms and healing salves that we have available to us. Pain has a job: the job is to draw our attention to something that needs our care, and in these final few months of 2025, it’s important to remember that we need to acknowledge what hurts to be able to heal it.
The exact square comes along on the first full day of Scorpio season, but it is building for all of Libra season, and stays active through the end of 2025, with a second exact square coming on December 21st. Planets moving through the final decan of Libra have been forming a t-square with Jupiter and Chiron, further highlighting this tension—in the first few days of November, Venus will do this as well. This cardinal t-square may expose pain-points in our relationships, but acknowledging them and tending to them can help us form stronger connections moving forward.
Mercury retrograde:
November 9th - November 29th: Mercury retrograde from 6° of Sagittarius to 20° of Scorpio
October 21st - December 16th: retrograde shadow period
November 20th: Mercury cazimi at 28° of Scorpio
Our final Mercury retrograde of the year comes along in the middle of Scorpio season, as the planet of communication travels through the first decan of Sagittarius. In Jupiter’s territory, Mercury can lose sight of the details and information in the abyss of the story, and while it’s retrograde, it can be even more difficult to keep our eye on the ball. This Mercury retrograde has great potential buried within it; the caveat is that we have to allow ourselves to be retrograde. We have to allow ourselves to be in a process of review to reap the benefits of the course correction and the understanding that this retrograde offers. We have to allow ourselves the opportunity to get things wrong, to view things from new perspectives, and to learn, but if we commit to that process, we can genuinely expand into something new, something that works for us. With Jupiter in Cancer ruling one portion of this retrograde, we owe it to ourselves to review the stories we tell about our needs and about how we care for them. With Mars in Sagittarius ruling the other portion of this retrograde, we also owe it to ourselves to interrogate the ways we fight for what we believe.
Jupiter x Saturn:
Jupiter and Saturn spend all of Scorpio season (and the remainder of 2025) engaged in a trine that never exacts, helping us to align our goals with our work ethic, and our worldview with our responsibilities. This is an auspicious dynamic to capitalize on when it comes to the relationship between Cancer and Pisces themes, as well as the Cancer and Pisces parts of our charts. But this trine becomes even more supportive as planets traverse the final decan of Scorpio, completing a grand water trine. October, November, and December are marked by this grand water trine as Mercury, Mars, the sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mercury once more (not to mention the moon’s monthly visits), activate this growth potential in the water houses in our charts. This is a powerful moment to explore the ways we relate to water energy, and how we engage with the houses in our charts containing water signs—with all of the traditional planets involved, we have the opportunity to affect our whole lives. When Jupiter and Saturn work together, we may find that we have the support we need to expand into our interests, curiosities, and beliefs while strengthening the foundation beneath us, so that we can have the grounding our growth requires. To make the most of this drawn-out moment, we must be aware of our feelings, trust our intuition, and honor our embodied responses.
Uranus x Neptune:
August 28, 2025: Uranus in Gemini sextiles Neptune at 1° of Aries
* November 20, 2025: Uranus in Taurus sextiles Neptune at 29° of Pisces *
July 15, 2026: Uranus in Gemini sextiles Neptune at 4° of Aries
January 15, 2027: Uranus in Gemini sextiles Neptune at 1° of Aries
June 6, 2027: Uranus in Gemini sextiles Neptune at 6° of Aries
Uranus and Neptune are coming together in the second of several supportive alignments over the next couple of years. This sextile may help us to disrupt our beliefs and innovate in creative and meaningful new ways in our lives. Outer planets like these also speak to generational shifts with widespread and long-lasting effects, so we may see changes to spirituality on a larger scale, new perspectives emerging in culture and in the arts, and technological developments with meaningful impacts. This is the only one in this series, taking place in Taurus and Pisces—this moment gives us some insight into how we can connect where we are coming from to where we are going.
Happy Libra season!
The sun moves into Scorpio on October 22nd at 8:50 pm Pacific time
Lunations:
Full moon at 13° of Taurus on November 5th at 5:19 am
This full moon offers us a moment to appreciate what matters most to us and revel in our relationships, connections, values, and generosity. There is challenge in the air but when we’re growing and doing our best, there’s so much to celebrate in that simple fact. This full moon is helping to bring our relationship needs to light and also highlighting the tools we have at our disposal to heal, nurture, and set ourselves up for success.
New moon at 28° of Scorpio on November 19th at 10:47 pm PT
We are speaking a new beginning into existence, and in doing so we are planting seeds with all of the care and routine that they needs to grow longterm. This new start also comes with unexpected twists and turns, infusing this upcoming cycle with surprises guiding us toward greater freedom but maybe shocking us along the way. We may feel the need to lock this new beginning in, with a burst of energy, an assertive act, or a exertion of some kind, but our passion is already intertwined in everything we do during this lunation, and what unfolds after it. Rest if you need to.
Scorpio season, week by week:
-
The first full day of Scorpio season gets things moving with the culmination of an aspect that has been building for all of Libra season. When Chiron in Aries and Jupiter in Cancer clash, we may feel an element of release, like we’re finally getting to deal with something that had been creating tension for a while now. This square offers us a challenge, something that might feel prickly and might trigger a long-standing wound surrounding our autonomy, self-determination, or ego, but working through this tension can help us find new levels of healing. Jupiter’s involvement can have us expanding the difficult feelings in a way that might feel a little overwhelming. However, there’s also a sense of expansion when it comes to the soothing balms and salves we can apply to the pain, and a sense of expansion in the ways we can adapt our worldviews to make more space for the importance of genuine care and healing. A square between the sun, freshly in Scorpio, and Pluto in Aquarius on Friday, adds to the intensity of these first few days of Scorpio season.
Then later in the day, Mercury in Scorpio comes along to trine Jupiter in Cancer, possibly giving us an outlet to communicate some of what’s been hurting and what we’ve been healing. The following day, Mercury trines Saturn in Pisces, helping us commit to the responsibilities and practices that we want to see in our lives. This trine will also highlight the trine that’s been building between Jupiter and Saturn since September, and will be active for the better part of the last 4 months of 2025. The trine won’t exact this time around because of their differing retrograde patterns, but it will get very close, and there is support here for us to capitalize on as the year winds down.

The last week of October begins with a boost of energy as Mars and Jupiter trine in Scorpio and Cancer, respectively. This may bring us the mix of optimism and motivation that we need to make progress on something meaningful for us, because both planets are in signs where they are particularly comfortable and capable. Both planets are also in water signs, which may mean that this motivation is more about meeting ourselves where we are emotionally in the moment and finding constructive ways of moving from there. Wednesday is a big day, just after midnight, Mercury in Scorpio trines Neptune, freshly back at the final degree of Pisces, giving the opportunity to explore and communicate our imaginations, sources of inspiration, and deep spiritual values. After the trine to Neptune, Mercury will move from Scorpio into Sagittarius, a sign where Mercury struggles to keep its eye on the details, in favor of more grandiose storytelling and philosophizing. Also on Wednesday, Mars in Scorpio trines Saturn in Pisces, giving us the motivation we need to enforce our emotional boundaries and the structure we need to follow our drive in the direction of our passions. This can be a very helpful transit when it comes to finding greater alignment between the things we do with our energy and the responsibilities that need our attention. On Wednesday afternoon, Mercury moves into an opposition to Uranus in Gemini, and then on Thursday, the final transit of October is Mercury’s sextile to Pluto in Aquarius. This week, we might feel encouraged to investigate the depths of topics available to us, and we may feel compelled to come to terms with the ways we are (and are not) adapting to the changes around us, and maybe help us to integrate the necessary innovations that we need to progress forward and find balance in the midst of the changes.
The first few days of November bring us Venus’ opposition to Chiron in Aries, and its square to Jupiter in Cancer. Venus is coming along to highlight this dynamic between Jupiter and Chiron that’s a big theme of the second half of 2025, and when Venus engaged these planets and reiterates the square between them, we may feel our relationships and creative endeavors trigger an old wound within us, but we also might find that engaging in earnest with those relationships and creative practices can help us to find healing through pleasure, connections, and the beauty around us.
-
The first full week of November begins with inspired action and motivation as Mars forms a trine to Neptune, freshly back, in Pisces. This transit may encourage us to move from a place of alignment and help us to get in touch with our innate imaginative, spiritual, and connective drive. Then the following day, the planet of action, passion, and momentum moves into the fiery and Jupiter-ruled territory of Sagittarius, where it almost immediately opposes Uranus in Gemini. Mars’s opposition to Uranus may bring sudden changes and surprises with an unexpected edge. On Wednesday, the full moon in Taurus exacts, shining light on a sweet, expansive, and possibly relational culmination in the Taurus parts of our charts. This full moon has a lovely and healing quality to it, ruled by Venus at home in Libra, but it may also trigger something sensitive for us. If we look around, we have exactly what we need to meet the moment with as much optimism as possible. Thursday turns our attention back to our actions with a sextile between Mars and Pluto, intensifying and magnifying how power translates into movement. Midweek, we may have some opportunities to explore our relationship to our own empowerment and how it fuels what we do. Then later on Thursday, Venus moves from its airy domicile into its watery sign of detriment, Scorpio. In Scorpio, Venus is deep, emotionally attuned, and powerfully loyal, but in Mars’s territory, it’s also lacking in the support and ease that it has access to in signs where it is more comfortable. The weekend may bring some plot twists, power plays, and potential miscommunications as Uranus re-enters Taurus while its ruler, Venus, squares off with Pluto on Friday, and with Mercury stationing retrograde in Sagittarius on Sunday.
-
At the start of the week, we may still be unwinding from the twists and turns of the weekend, then on Tuesday, Jupiter pulls focus as it stations retrograde in Cancer. This is a great time to reflect on your systems of care, your worldview, and the ways that you are and aren’t feeling cared for—allow Jupiter to expand your sense of what’s possible, and inspire the optimism required to course correct and meet the needs falling to the wayside, especially when it trines the sun in Scorpio on Sunday. The only other prominent transit of the week comes on Wednesday when Mercury and Mars conjoin in Sagittarius. This conjunction may sharpen our words and remind us of the power held within them, but it also may inspire a type of impulsivity, aggression, or messiness when it comes to our conversations, ideas, and communications more broadly.
-
The final few days of Scorpio season are packed with energy. Monday may highlight a combination of curiosity and practicality in our lives. The day begins with a trine between the sun and Saturn that may help us to feel grounded and committed to ourselves, then in the afternoon Mercury sextiles Pluto, encouraging us to go deep with our interests, conversations, and thoughts. On Tuesday, Mercury (still retrograde) makes its way back into Scorpio’s deep waters, bringing up conversations and thoughts from late October. On Wednesday, we can expect the unexpected. When Mercury opposes Uranus and trines Neptune, we may find ourselves encountering surprising information and shifts in perspective that open us up to new sources of inspiration, but also shocks to our system. Then, in the evening, the new moon in Scorpio exacts, in a conjunction to Mercury, imbuing this new cycle with the change in the air, as well as expansive opportunities for our long-term growth. On Thursday, the Mercury cazimi exacts, providing clarity in the midst of these shifts and changes, then a few hours later, Uranus and Neptune form a sextile that may help us find new ways of integrating our changing experiences and realities with our collective beliefs and what inspires us. We are meeting a changing moment as changing selves and changing communities. The final day of Scorpio season puts a point on the conversations and the energy that has been brewing all week (at least for the time being, because Mercury will be back in these final degrees of Scorpio post-retrograde). On Friday, the sun opposes Uranus and trines Neptune on its way out of fixed water and into mutable fire, helping us make sense of where we stand and how we navigate our changing world.
